Question just bought cracked headers.
Will someone host a picture for me. I just bought a set of headers from a local member, but the headers have a crack at the weld for the AIR pipes. Will this effect performance. It is small but I can see through it.

Hi, sorry I had no idea there was a problem! From the looks of it have it welded. I'll refund $20 or so to get it done.
Thanks,
Terry

Looks like i'll have to take it down tomorrow and have it welded. Will this effect the ceramic coating?

Yes it will affect the ceramic coating. They will most likely have to grind away some of the coating in order to get a clean weld.
Also, 20 bucks wont come anywhere near covering it.
Even though it was a minor oversight, I would request that the headers be refunded..
If not, I wouldnt accept any less than 50 bucks. Its not just the cost of the weld, but the frustration of having to get it done.. (Not to mention the coating)

Hmm I thought $20 was a nice gesture, as they were already heavily discounted.
The coating won't be an issue, they just need to run a small bead around it and you'll be ready to rock.

C'mon guys....
Thats a 5 minute garage weld. Used is used, for what it's worth I think the $20 offer is standup and more than the seller needed to do. Chuck.

FWIW I welded the air pipe flange on my ceramic coated FLP headers and it had no effect on the ceramic coating, these headers are now on a friends 01 Z06 and still look great more than a year after welding.

Thanks great to hear, I figure this is probably a common problem especially the way these air tubes were designed.

It was very nice for the seller to offer 20.00 so you can have this welded. You should be able to have this easily welded for that amount.

Use Duct tape and the silver will blend nicely.

Or get some hi-temp silver paint and dab it on with a cue tip. If you have any scratches it will keep them from rusting.
