I'm about to do a cam swap... while i'm at it i'm gonna replace spring, rods, oil pump and timing chain... thinking about maybe doing a pulley... My understanding this slows down the other items in the belt system there by freeing up static power.. how does this effect the way those items work? I'm planning on installing a full PC in my dash here soon and will need some juice...

Since you'll need to pull the stock balancer off for the cam swap, this is the perfect time to install the pulley as it's considered "free" labor. There is a brand of pulley (I think SLP) that underdrives the crank, but not the a/c. The a/c belt remains the same. Good for warmer climates that need 100% air conditioning capability at idle and low engine speeds.
As for the other accessories, they are usually underdriven between 15% to 25% depending on brand of pulley. The one I am referring to above is at 20% I believe. My tuner says no issues with charging or engine cooling at idle but YMMV....
Look at LPE, they sell a 25% under drive ASP with along with a smaller pulley for the alternator spinning it at the standard speed while slowing down the PS and water pump. Works good, no problems here

Zero problems under-driving your accessories (alternator, water pump, power steering, a/c). Gain is circa 12rwhp

If your interested in the Powerbond / SLP pulley, Dr. Chill is selling them in the "For sale" section at an excellent price. He only has a few left, so if you want one, contact him soon.

12 rwhp sure sounds like a lot for only a 25% reduction, anyone with dyno proof?Originally Posted by EnglandGreen
