Anyone using this product, from what I have read it hooks into the fan circuit so the fan on temp can be set to a desired temp, also comes with a lower temp t-stat, sort of resembles the fan switch for the C4 I installed where I could toggle on/off the fans manually.
I use it and love it. There is an adjustment on it, so I kept the stock thermostat and dialed in the fan switch to come on at 208 and it goes off at 201. Works perfect. Both fans come on low, and in the hottest temperature the engine has never gone over 208.
I have the fan controller and 170 degree t-stat. Both work great and the car runs a lot cooler. The switch comes set too low and the fans run too much, but you can adjust. The t-stat allows the temperature to lower sooner when you get moving, so the temp. range seems to be greater than stock. Mine is adjusted to keep temp between about 180 and 205, which should be perfect.
Need a little help....
Happen to run accross this old post about the vhp fan controller, happen to have one that was installed aready on the vet that I just purchased and there was no info on this as to how it is wired in and how to use... was wondering if anyone has the wiring diagram and instructions on how to install, uninstall, use or adjust? if so can anyone possible supply this info as we are having a fan problem and it just might be this vhp setup..
if it is I want to remove it, can use my programer to adjust both fans for temps for turn on and off through the computer.. which I feel is the better way to do it for my style of driving and the area where I live. This vet came out of florida where it is hot all the time, not so here in ohio... thanks for any help anyone can give me...GJS
