High Oil Tempature?

Overall it ran great. Seem to be running very rich and dosn't want to idle. The clutch engages very low, but feels good. The oil temp was around 239. Water temp was around 210. I put a 160 degree thermostat in but have not had the fans set to come on earlier.
I will get it tuned in about two weeks.
I added a set of Z06 heads, LS6 intake, 42# injectors, ported/polished throttle body,232/236 cam, Comp R lifter, 918 springs, 7.4 hardened pushrods, Dynamaxx headers/xpipe, LS7 clutch, new clutch slave/master cyl, Underdrive pulley, DTE Brace, Tunnel Plate, rebuilt trans and a 4:10 rear.
Any ideas about the high oil temp? BTW it was about 90 outside.
When I changed my thermostat I took my coupe for a hard drive b4 I reprogramed the fans. 200-220 temp for the coolant was the result as had been in the past as well.
30 minutes later I reprogramed the fans to come on at 180 (since this is the temp thermostat I installed) and the result was 180-190 is now the norm.
I suggest you hold on until you reprogram your fans and this should cool things down considerably.
lower t-stats are for when your car is at idle not driving it. Air moving though the radiator and engine bay cools the engine.
Maybe time for seperate oil cooler.
the tune is the most important part to set everything right
My H/C car use to run around 225 for oil (not sure of coolant). I installed the Dewitt Radiator and Oil cooler and the oil this weekend on the Crab run through NJ to Delaware never went over 200 even with some high speed runs. Coolant temps were bouncing around 180 and up to 190 when I was rally on it.
I just switch from a regular tune to a Speed Density Tune and I could not be happier. The car runs great. Idle is perfect all the time and I was running on the highway in 6th gear from 1200 rpms all the way up to 3-4K and the car was happy with it. I am still amzed by the S/D tune....

I've seen 245+ oil temps on mine on hot days when driving aggressively. Oil temps fluctuate a lot more than coolant temps, and it depends on how hard you're running the car.
If all you did was change the Tstat, and you haven't had any tuning or fan programming done yet, I wouldn't worry.
The Tstat itself does nothing to control how hot an engine runs, it only controls how cold it can run. If you're on the freeway at a steady speed and low engine load, with just the Tstat it should run a little cooler....but around town in stop n go conditions, and especially when beating on it, the fans are what's controlling the engine temp.
The Tstat has to work in conjunction with the fan turn-on settings. If you only turned the fans on sooner, with the stock tstat, the fans would run constantly. This is the reason people install lower temp Tstats - to lower fan turn-on temp settings.
