I purchased a 1999 Corvette about a year ago and shortly afterwards starting getting the Service ABS, TC and AH messages with a trouble code of C1243 BPMV Pump Motor Stalled. After checking a few things I purchased a used ABS from e-bay and had a shop install. No problems for 6 months. I'm now getting the service ABS, TC and AH with the same code - C1243 again. It pops up as soon as I start the car when the engine is cold and occasionally when I hit a bump in the road. I've checked the grounds in the engine compartment and everything is clean. Any ideas what else might be causing this? Thanks!
I had this same problem, though no one else seems to have it on this board.
What I did was to drive the car at about 30-35 mph and clear the DTC code which will make the ABS and TCS lights go off for just a moment. You then need to hit the brakes and engage the ABS system until the car almost stops. The lights will most likely come on again. Do this 4-5 times and the lights will stay off...for a while. They might come back in another month or two but you can just do this again. I suggest you do this when it is wet outside so you won't add a lot of wear to your tires.
Keep us posted if this works for you or not. You can also search for my post about the 1243 code.
i also have this problem with a few exceptions. randomly i will start the car and they will all come on but when i reset them they stay off. also they havent come on from hitting bumps but if i get on it and leave the t/c on the lights will come on. but again resetting will take care of it. im not sure whats wrong with it but i do know that the active handling feature does not work at all on my car. mine is a 99 mn6. the only fix ive heard is to replace the ebcm but that part was over $1000 and im not paying that.
