Default X-Pipe Question!!!

I own a stock 2000 C5

Right after I bought the car I installed the Borla (T-304 Stainless Steel Rear Section) I loved the new exhaust note at WOT and at cruise however, near idle and low RPM's I notice a hell of a "slurping, gargle" sound. I haven't been able to listen to many other vettes but I just can't stand that crappy sound anymore! I've checked for leaks but have found "NO EXHAUST LEAKS".
My question is will an X-pipe really make a $300 difference in sound?

The x-pipe will eliminate about 95% of the "popping/gurgling sound" on deceleration. I found this out from experience myself. I had also changed out the exhaust for the Borla Quad-tip stingers and then later added the x-pipe. Love the WOT sound but the "popping/gurgle noise" on deceleration was tough to handle for me on a daily driver (especially around town).

To me the x-pipe was worth the money.

When you install the X-Pipe do you fail inspection have any warning messages in your dashboard or any issues to deal with what so ever? Basically do I just replace the piping and thats it? I have the Borla Stinger dual tip exhaust.

You should not get any codes or fail any inspections because the X pipe goes in after the 2nd set of O2 sensors. You WILL have to cut your stock pipes off to install the X pipe. I found really detailed instructions on the Corsa website. http://www.corsaperf.com

What if you like the decel pop or gugrle? Do all high flow cats come w/ X-Pipes to get rid of that? I'm kinda partial to the sounds...

That is a personal preference. I kind of liked it too but needed to change it on my daily driver (if it was a weekend only toy I probably would have left it alone.

It is possible to get LT headers that just attach to the stock cats and can leave the stock H-pipe. There is always a way, just have to go outside the normal ordering options to get there.

The X pipe will get rid of the famous motor boat sound.

Thanks for the info!

Last year when I installed the Borla I didn't think the $300 X-pipe was worth a second thought. However, I must do something to help eliminate the gurgle.. We'll see if it does the trick

The X-pipe worked!!!
%95 of the gurgle/motor boat sounds are gone!! I now have a cleaner sounding Vette.
The $212 Borla X-pipe was well worth the money.
