Before I take my vette into the dealer is there anything I can check to see what could cause this problem. Have a 98 and last week my tail lights and dash lights quit working. Turn the head lights on and they work, turn signals and brake light work too. The only thought I had was the fuses but they appear to be ok....... Any help would be appreciated.... I can't imagine it being a broken wire since the car is in mint condition, garage kept and only has 34,000 miles on it, but since I"m not much of a car guy anything is possible I guess.
34000 miles,,,,,WOW,,,the car is flat wore out and beyond help!
Just hand it over and I will part it out! It might make a good farm vehicle!
Just kidding!
Try this:
Rapidly press and release your emergency hazard flasher button about 15-20 times and then do the test again! If that fixes it, you will be needing a new emergency switch SOON!! If it doesnt,,,,,the turn signal stalk could be the next component in the troubleshooting path!
Ive never looked at the wiring schemic so I can only add this.one of the most common things in this reguard is the relay for lights. The other replys could be the culprit too.I saw one come into Starbucks the other day & the headlights were on,actually it was toward dark thirty, they were winking at each other.Up & down for what seemed like a minute. Some do have electric problems.I used to work on aircraft & my experience tells me its usually not wiring. But if all this fails you might not have a choice but to take it in...pls update us on it.Might have the same problem my self.....
