Default rear/trans fluids

I about to swap the rear end and TC on my wife's car. Does anyone know right off how much rear lube and trans fluid I'm going to need?
Also; any recomended brands?
Thanks

4qts for MN6/M12 trans (uses 3.6x or so, but you'll have to buy 4 and have a little left over)
2qts for the rear end (same deal uses a little less, so you'll have some left over)

edit: just noticed my typo - should have been 2 qts for the rear:o

I didn't know the "additive" was still necessary with the synthtic fluids; I don't believe I put any in mine when I changed it...

If you order Amsoil they have a very good additive for the rear. Order it at the same time and you'll keep it all one brand. If you cant find it I have a few bottles in stock.

Diff takes about 1.7 quarts, tranny takes about 3.7 quarts.

Applicable AMSOIL fluids:

Tranny: AMSOIL ATF
Diff: AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90

The AMSOIL Severe Gear 75w90 comes with friction modifier in it and adding an extra bottle is not needed unless differential chatter occurs. I've been using this gear lube in my Z06 for years without chatter and haven't needed to add any modifier. If you need any, here is the product info: AMSOIL Slip-Lock Differential Additive

Something like this comes in handy if you do it yourself: AMSOIL Hand Pump
