Went into My dealer today to pick up a part, came out and the car would not start, nil, nothing, no spin, no click nothing. Got a tech to run a Tech 2 on it in the parking lot and he came up with "Pass key" code not sure which one he got he was mumbleing about it when he walked away. Anyone know anything about this. There are four codes listed in the manual, 3 "detection current" and a "Passkey programming mode active" anyone have an idea what the cause is or a fix for it?
Car is an '' Vert with roughly 32K on the clock, never had a problem with it until today. Any help appreciated.
Sounds like they are sabotaging vehicles in the parking lot to drum up business.
Seriously, it sounds like it may be the dirty key problem. Many have had that problem. Clean the key pellet really well and try to clean the contact in the lock. A dab of alcohol on a Q-Tip would probably do the trick.
Thanks I will try it. Not to sure that you also may be on target about the dealer, they are so slow at this point in time that guys there are talking second jobs to get by, talking about the service department and body shop in particular. Once agaoin thanks for the tip.
