Default CRC Mass Air Flow cleaner

If you saw this before, I apologize, but I saw it for the first time in Popular Mechanics. This seems to be the only product that is specifically formulated for MAFs. See:

I use plain old everyday brake parts cleaner. Works well and I have not had a problem.

Bill, In the latest Popular Mechanics, the auto tech guru recommended against using common brake cleaners and such. I believe he mentioned that harsh solvents could slowly deteriorate plastic components, such as MAF housings over time. I've seen damage such as this that didn't show up right away (plastic components at work). Loctite threadlockers such as 222 and 242 attack many plastics - not always evident in the beginning). This is why Loctite 425 is recommended for use with plastics.
