Gentlemen- I have to agree with the above. I've been a U.S. soldier for 12 years and I fight for freedom (sure isn't the pay). Freedom to purchase from the lowest bidder. No one or site is going to tell me who or how I can spend my $$. Just because your a forum vendor doesn't make you are your products GOD. People being able to help each other, may be techincal knowledge or finding the lowest price is what makes this site so great. Why take that away?? Just my view.
I salute you as a soldier.
But as a forum member; you gotta understand that the forum owners -do indeed- set the rules here; and have every right to do so... in any direction of their choosing.
I only asked my question because I felt the forum rules are a little vague about this instance and was hoping for a clarification.
i will agree to the rules.....MY BAD .. i didnt realize the vendors owned the website...i thought that ...someone... owned the website and charged the vendors to advertise in here..to help sell there products...but it sounds like the vendors own this website and by that i will obey THEIR rules to play in THEIR house.....DOH!! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A TRULY ...FREE ....CORVETTE FORUM.....so..if you play in here you gotta pay in here...fair enough
So, soldier to soldier, it is COOL not to follow orders or abide by the by-laws of an orgnization you are a member of?? Wonder what your CO would think of that?
BTW, my son will be returning from Iraq in December if all goes well.
GOD SPEED AND SAFE PASSAGE TO YOUR SON
This is not the place to discuss my leadership style, achievements, or deployments.

So should the admins send you the MANY 10's of thousands of dollars worth of Computer Server/Hardware bills? OR should they just suck it up and pay it out of their personal checking account just so you can come on here and try to low ball a business man..
Because face it.... This website isnt FREE. SOMEONE has to pay for bandwidth, servers, accounting, IT support, etc etc etc. And it sure as he!! isnt YOU.
So go ahead, try and save that couple bucks by going to a non supporting vendor. This way when you get ripped off we can all sit back and laugh at you.
Better yet, go buy your parts at Autozone. This way you dont have to be burdened with 24 hour access to "Corvette Only" business owners that can answer any questions you might have, because you dont think they should be able to "Pay" to advertise their expertise.
I was at the Blooming gold in Illinois about a month ago and one of the venders had the Dynatech on sale for $1290.00 shipped and $99.00 for the jet coating.I called Scott this morning and he will still honor the price if we have a GP so if anybody wants in call scott at All Horse Power.com . If you need the number pm me and I will give it to you we need about 15 members so lets get this deal before it goes away.
Can someone explain to me what the Jet Coating does?
Can someone explain to me what the Jet Coating does?
Way to bring it back on topic.
It is supposed to keep the headers from turning colors and also keep the heat inside the headers instead of the heat radiating off into your engine bay and under carriage.
you guys are confusing the hell out of me with this GP stuff. what is tbyrne's GP price? seems he indicated that he's a distributor/wholesaler and at @1299, he's loosing $$$. so, how can scott sell them at the $1299 price? ...and what about nate@corvettecarage??? someone said that he's got a better price yet, so what is nate's price? is scott person a legit - any forum member in Fort Worth TX, know this guy?
bottom line - i'd like to get a supermaxx system, and what's it gonna cost me - period!

Hang on buddy we're all listening... Just stay put for now. No rush. That's how deals are made.

Dan...
I think in the SAME thread someone said something like, being patient and not jumping in so EARLY (something on the lines of not such good negotiating skills)... I just like reading everyone's comments. But some I remember.

Now, now... HOLD ON (this is for all those who wanna support the "supporting vendor). Nate from Corvette garage IS A "supporting vendor". I'm waiting to hear his bid. Bidding is a free way, an American way of doing business.
I feel the excitement of the GP is coming back... JMHO. GP's are suppose to be exciting, and its a Band Wagon affect. A great deal comes along, and everyone jumps ON - even people who never thought of buying that product before.

nate cannot post his lower price due to the dynatech rules lowest advertised price...it is lower but not much.....
i didnt intend on starting w.w.3 just trying to get ME the lowest price possible...........i wish i could get swb yellow pages to stop people from doing business w/people who dont purchase their add space..as i do...I didnt know this was a corvetteforum vendors only website to sell their products...........RIGHT? after all this aint ebay oh..that right corvettegarage is a vendor....i called tbynre and many others ..only 2 vendors contacted me about this gp..after all i got it started in the first place.....these 2 vendors have the RIGHT to underbid each other thats called business........i have nothing against either vendor ..i just want the cheapest possible price...cause all my money is going to the yellow pages.....but i dont make my customers pay higher price than my competitor just because they used my yellow page add......now...deep breath...exhale

you can purchase anything anywhere you want but not advertise it here. Supporting vendors pay 200 or 300 or more per month and it is not fair for someone to come on here and put a plug for a non-member vendor. You can email your Friends just not plug it on here.

your yellow pages are part of your overhead of your business like the supporting vendors pay here. So the equivalant is someone in the yellow pages for free next to your add. You would not be happy. JMHO
i do not support a non corvette forum vendor.....nor have i advertised his lower price....only suggesting another CORVETTEFORUM VENDOR has a lower price ....which was what i thought a gp was for.......i will not buy my dynatech on gp from anyone else than this websites vendors.....and i will stick to emails to talk to them...lots and lots of emails
IMO,looks like nate pissed in tbyrnes pool.tbyrne offered the gp first,he should get first crack at it.do what you want and say what you want, but you started with tbyrne, you should finish with him.

I don't think there's such a thing as "one started with someone, so they've gotta finish it there". Everyone has the right to buy whatever they want, from who ever they want. Its their money, they can choose to spend it with whoever they want. The bidding is still ON. May the person with best offer get more orders. If a CF member is looking to start a GP, all supporting vendors have the RIGHT to get our orders. They need to give their bottom line price. And in this case Nate's price IS Lower... So what are we complaining about - saving money? Isn't that the whole purpose of a GP, and CF members helping each other? (JMHO).....

point made!i just checked out nate.you can't beat him.if it was a question of 20-30 bucks i could see staying with tbyrne, but the # will never beat nate's.it's just a shame 2 vendors went head to head, but nate wins, hands down.sorry tbyrne, but you would have to be a idiot to go your way instead of nate's,sorry.stick a fork in it,it's done

I could have got this system last year for even less, from a shop in Ft.Myers Florida, (NOTE: the complete system NOT just the headers ) I kick myself for not buying it then, as I see it's went up in price allot since then. Vendor or no vendor I would buy from whom ever offered the best price ON the COMPLETE SYSTEM.
If I new of someone/some where/ where you could get the system for a $1000 I am quite sure ALL members would want to know where. That is what this forum is for, to pass along "INFORMATION" and if a supporting vendor can not offer a better price, well to bad, cut your profit margin.
ALSO all the talk on this thread I hope where talking about pricing on the Complete System and NOT just the headers.

hello - the price difference is pretty much $20.... Nate isn't the one offering the 1299 i don't think... i'm pretty sure the person offering 1299 is not a CF Vendor... but don't quote me i could be wrong...
YOU ARE VERY CORRECT........20 bucks is 20 bucks and the 10 sets required ..not 15 seems easier to reach...maybe he aint paying as much on his advertisements....lol
if it's a difference of 20 bucks, give me a break and go with tbyrnes.
i will say this,EVERYONE should look at nate's site
<------- and see if you see what i see. maybe i'm stupid.
like i said,i have no interest in the gp regardless of who the vendor is,but something is very wrong here.VERY WRONG!
