I wouldn't really say he pissed in the pool. Well, there might be that colored cloud tht shows some floating around. Just don't drink the water!

That's what happens when your first. Then everyone else wants to take a stab at it just to say they are that little bit lower. A few dollars here and a few dollars there. The other posts made it sound like there was a big difference in price. In the end there comes a point where the vendors are cutting prices to a point to just say they sold them. This is great for the consumer but not the best thing for the vendor. I've seen a number of companies (some from this board) price themselves out of business over the years.

This all started with the origional post that said we have a lower everyday price for the Dynatechs. There was just discussion about us doing a GP in that thread. I put some numbers together and things went from there. Other numbers were tossed out after our GP started. In the end we might see orders going in different directions with no one vendor having the minimum...

Cutting you off might save some money. My wife just had twins a couple of weeks ago. I still think we should have watched TV that night

I wouldn't say that you not buying from a forum vendor will close the site. It's just that us vendors have to pay to advertise here. Boards like this are expensive to run (equipment, bandwidth and the time to keep up with everything). The $ that we pay allows the site to run so everyone has a place to hang out and exchange ideas and info. Now when an "outside company" gets free advertising, it makes us paying vendors look at it like hey, we have to pay to advertise here and there sliding in for nothing. I'm trying to explain this without sounding like forum vendors are the only ones to buy from. I hope this comes across the right way.

i understand completely no outside advertisements should be allowed .....but competition between paying vendors should be fair game....thanks ..i enjoy the forum...and wanna spend my money in here..i just like the 20.00 and only 10 systems needed to get it...not just the money...its less sales needed...i dont see 15..but 10 is in sight...and i been droolin over those headers for months now....thanks for your effort and i hope both of you guys get the minimum..

BTW - I wasn't trying to say that $20 isn't worth saving... obviously every dollar is worth saving - what i was saying is that by the time Nate chimed in (a week after the GP discussion) 3 people had already ordered... so its kinda like - TByrne offered a lower price - nobody chimed in - then people starting taking TByrne's offer - (and I don't think this was in haste either...) and Nate's price came out - splitting the effort...

Too bad we all couldn't just stay with TByrne - we woulda probably hit 15 by now... instead of this limbo... and for an extra $20... hitting the mark is worth it...

I've stopped in to take care of a few things this morning. People have been placing their orders over the weekend so we're now at 11. Just need 4 more for this to go through!

if 20 bucks is going to break you, maybe you should look at a car you could afford.looks like tbyrne still did ok,but i agree with silver98,you started it and for 20 bucks you'll go with a late arrival.pretty low in my opinion.but to eachs own.

I normally keep my mouth shut in this type of thread, and really should since I have no stake in the game (not a buyer or seller for this topic). However, another piece to the forum vendor thing in my opinion goes beyond just spending the advertising money. TByrne seems to be on here a lot, anwering questions and helping out. I haven't seen all the forum vendors doing the same thing. Is that right or wrong? Probably neither, but if it comes down to a few bucks on a $1000+ order, I am going with the place that helps me the most. A place like TByrne "appears" to be helping a bit more than some of the vendors.

Just my $.02

Which is why i'm quite happy to place my order through TByrne - not that any other vendors did any wrong but i feel like he earned it... i mean $20 is less than i spent on a nasty cheese burger and a couple beers at Red Robin last night... lol

At any rate - we may just hit the mark both ways - in that case no harm no foul. :-) Good luck to all involved - I'm extremely excited about this exhaust system!

Not that I'm currently in the market, but is there really a difference in price with a GP vs a regular single purchase?

I remember when I purchased my Dynatechs I found out what the GP prices were and then checked with a few vendors to see who would give me the best price on a set that they had in stock.

That's huge. Some of the GP guys waited forever to get their headers - I got the same price and didn't have to wait at all. Suckers..
