replace lifters
I have tried to find some threads about changing lifters. My question is can lifters be changed just by removing the valve covers? I have a ticking sound, I will inspect the rockers and puchrods, but in the event both are find I will go deeper. Can this be done?:

You are going to have to pull the heads to change the lifters.
