Default Need Advice

1998 A4..While coming home from a 200 hundred mile trip in hot humid weather my DIC went crazy ...threw every warning imaginable. But car ran fine...pulled over and noticed water dripping from under the dash on passenger side...passenger side floor full of water. Figured it was from the A/C so I shut off A/C and continued home...car ran fine. Got home pulled out the carpet protector on the passenger side...full of water...pulled off the panel covering the fuse box and ECM...it was wet inside. Pulled off the cover under dash on passenger side ...wet there too. Pulled air hose that cools blower motor ..water came out. Took
2.5 hours drying the area...blew air around ECM...all wires looked dry.
The carpet protector buckets I used in the car took most of the water and kept kept the floor carpet on passenger side dry but around the panel cover got wet. So everything seemed fine...but even though previois owner installed the CLB...I now get the "Pull Key Wait Ten Seconds...everytime I first start car...and now the wheel does lock when I shut the car off...didn't before.. Milked all the udders under hood...and the HVAC drain..but nothing came out...so took it to dealer...they vaccumed the EVAP drain and cleared the blockage....Now they also noticed my car had not had the column lock recall fix...problably because the previous owner installed the CLB...which apparently does not work now because the wheel does lock when I shut car off and I consistently get the Pull Key Wait Ten Seconds...They ordered the recall fix kit and will call me when it gets in...I read if they install the GM fix they will remove the CLB...should I let them install the GM fix or purchase a new CLB...

You don't have the CLB. If the CLB was installed, the column lock actuator would be disconnected in the unlocked state, so it would be impossible to ever lock.

If the CL was not locking before but is now, then the question is why was that happening and what was preventing the BCM from detecting a CL state mismatch.
