doors wont unlock when key is remove. had it to the dealer replace key switch and then the BCM but is no better I thank the dealer has give up.
Don't mean to offend but I've met some dealer mechanics who try to find a solution before they understand the problem. So I have to ask, do you have the "auto unlock" set in the "options" menu?
auto unlock is set to unlock with removel of key, can the ground problem cause this not to work all of the time, I talked to the dealer he said there would be more problems if it was the ground. the car has
31k have been happy with the car. this is my 4th corvette my son has 2000 and daughter has a 2004.Thank you for Reply Ralph
If the ground to the door module or the door module were bad, the doors would not work with the other devices. There have been several forum members that have had similar issues but also have other symptoms. One possible source of the problem is your ignition key cylinder switch. When that switch inside the ignition switch goes bad, the BCM doesn't know that the key has been removed, thus the sequence of events that happen when you remove the key, doesn't happen. Some of the things that you will experience when that switch goes bad are:
Door open chime/key in ignition occurs when the key is removed.
If you have the memory package, the seat fails to retract when the key is removed (if memory is turned on.
Give that idea a thought and let me know how you make out.
dealer has replaced the switch cylinder the first time did not help. the car has the window valet and a xm radio installed could this be the problem
