You need to read and post your DTC Codes. That could be one of the issues and yes it does happen.

Select: Technical Data Base, then 1981-2004 Corvette ECM Computer Codes, Then your year C5, then read the directions. At the bottom of the directions page you will see “READ MORE”. The codes are on that next page.
