Default Camshaft Help

Ok i am putting my car back together soon after a spun rod bearing on my daily driver (98 MN6) and i was gonna throw in a diff cam. What i am thinking is a 220/224, 0.551/0.551, 114 Z+ cam from SDPC and i was wondering if anyone knows if i can get away with not tuning it for awile.. Only mods i got are 3:73 gears, intake and cat back... So will there be any issues?

Yes, you can get away without tuning, however driveability will suffer without a tune. Maybe SDPC can provide you a mail order tune for the cam.

Call Crane tech support and see what they say as well. I have a 216/224 in mine and put a few hundred miles on it before the tune without a problem.

Probably have to drill a hole in the bottom half of the throttlebody plate to keep her going at idle. You might want to see if you can get the idle raised to 800 or so until you get it tuned.

Hopefully you are upgrading some of your valve train when you do this, at least swap in LS2/LS6 valve springs or Comp 918s.

Stock exhaust manifolds are going to be a choke point on your horsepower, I'd be looking at headers next.
