Ok i am putting my car back together soon after a spun rod bearing on my daily driver (98 MN6) and i was gonna throw in a diff cam. What i am thinking is a 220/224, 0.551/0.551, 114 Z+ cam from SDPC and i was wondering if anyone knows if i can get away with not tuning it for awile.. Only mods i got are 3:73 gears, intake and cat back... So will there be any issues?
Probably have to drill a hole in the bottom half of the throttlebody plate to keep her going at idle. You might want to see if you can get the idle raised to 800 or so until you get it tuned.
Hopefully you are upgrading some of your valve train when you do this, at least swap in LS2/LS6 valve springs or Comp 918s.
Stock exhaust manifolds are going to be a choke point on your horsepower, I'd be looking at headers next.
My idle right now is at 750 and has been for awile.. I will be adding headers soon but want to add it all then get a tune.. I do have LS1 edit for my C5 drag car but its limited to 1 car.. Dont want to pay more to get another lisence... Thanks Guys
