Default Which TSP Torquer 2 cam. PLEASE LOOK

I have a A4 2000 coupe. Putting on TSP Stage 1 Z06 heads and have 2 cams to chose form a torquer 2 on a 112 or 114. I want it to be able to be tuned to drive it. Very little track. Drive around town and on the highway. Don't want it to stall or have issues. A nice sounding idle would be cool but if it doesn't run right then that would not be good. Which do I buy?. I have a 3200 stall, a built tranny and all of the bolt ons. Please tell me a 112 or 114. TSP Will be doing a mail order tune. Plus the car runs a 150 wet shot. Thanks.

Either one would work well with the proper tuning. The 114 might slightly be more benificial with your stalled auto, especially if theres alot of city driving.

thanks keep them coming. Since it's not a track car the best around town and highway driving makes more sense.

Just a small reminder a cam is one instance that more is not necessarily better. I have dyno tuned many LSx engines. And I can show where a smaller cam will often out pull a much larger cam until the upper RPMs will the larger cam out pull the smaller cam. In most cases the smaller cam can have as much as 20hp over the larger cams un RPM ranges under 5500 RPM. I am talking about cams such as the popular Thunder racing TR224 vs a Futural F13 or similar larger grinds. The larger cams will often peak more at the upper RPMs but one has to also ask the question "how often will I be above 6000 RPM" More often the answer is not too often will I be at 6000+ on the street.......

does anyone have a nice comparison with dyno charts from the same dyno/tuner with a bunch of cams on a given motor/tranny combo?

I'd love to see the curves on the TR224 vs the MS3 vs Torquer 2 vs .....

I want big hp/torque gains from 1500-6000 but I could care less about revving it out all the time....

What gear do you have? If you have alot of gear you could get it on a 114 lsa, less gear like me and get it on the 112. The 112 will "chop" more than the 114 at idle. TSP should get you a good idle with either one.

Since you have a A4, the 114 will be easier to tune. Plus, the spray will like the 114 better.

The 114 will give a smoother idle, but will shift the torque curve higher in the rpm range. Installing the cam with a couple
degrees advance will help bring the curve down a little. I run a slightly more agressive grind than the torquer,
and with a good tune your cam should drive just fine.Have fun modding.

Just the opposite. A 112 will move the torque curve higher, and the horsepower curve. 112 will also be narrower. The plus of the 112? You will make more peak power with a 112 than a 114.

The 114 will give you more power under the curve. Both will give you a nice chop - but the 112 will sound more aggressive.

Both Face & Connecticut are correct

TSP Orig recomended the 113 but they sent a 114 and then we were able to get a 112. The 113 was not available.
