Are all 200 verts manual fold back tops. thought there was a button to push and they went back auto. Anyone? Thanks. 1st time 2000 vette buyer, just sold my 85
2000 should be like my 2002, manual only. You have to: unlatch 2 levers at the top of the windshield, raise the rear window, press the electric bonnet release and raise the 'door', collapse the entire roof into the storage and close the door. Sounds more complicated when reading - much easier in practice.

All convertible C5 corvettes (1997-2004) have convertible tops that manually fold up and down. Chevy didn't start offering a power convertible top until the C6 model (2006 and on).
And don't let the C5's manually folding top scare you off. It actually folds down in about 10 seconds, much faster than the C6 power top folds down on its own.
Oh, and one other nice trick (again, not sure about which years this applies to) - if the windows are up when you hit the bonnet release button, the windows automatically lower.

I have a 2000 and it's definitely do it yourself, which is fine with me, just one less mechanism to go wrong.
There is one trick to storing the top and that is dropping the rear bow in the well before lowering in the rest of the top.
Rented a Lexus SC 430 last week. Lowering and raising the top killed Me! In my vert, I could lower and raise the top three times in the time it took the Lexus to lower the top!
do you have to get out of the car to lower the top, or can it all be completed from within the car?
I saw one real lanky fellow that coud do it all from in the car,( I think he did it to win bets as its a long stretch to the open tonnau cover) but for most of us getting out is the best bet.
I had my 98 from April 98 till June 05, and its real easy and fast.
I had a choice when I ordered my C6 and went with the manual top.
FWIW a manual can be raised or lowered much faster than the power top, once you have done it a few times.

My top folds down in 10 seconds too, but goes back up in 6.09 seconds if it starts raining. The top goes up or down so quick and easy they are correct " don't let it scare you off." My wife can even do it.
