Default Power Window Replacement

The power window went out on my dad's C5, and he has asked me to replace it. I was wondering if there are any guides out there that could help me along the way? Also, where is the best place to pick up a new motor? It is the passenger side window, not sure if that's the right or left side. I know it's the window, because I've tried both switches, and the window will not go down. Also, the motor has already been replace once, while under warranty. Is this a common thing to happen?

Thank you for any help.

It's more likely to be a relay in the door control module than the motor itself. You need to diagnose the problem completely before starting to replace parts.

The problem is probably the cable binding in the pulley setup.

I have replaced both of mine with used units purchased off ebay. It is a very simple job to replace the entire setup, but I would not recommend trying to repair or work on the cable inside the main housing/pulley.

I bought one for $20 and another for $50 off ebay.
