Lunati cams have made good power. Like the MTI C1, C2, R1. Some of the Texas Speed Cams were Lunati for awhile, not to mention numerous other vendors who have used them in the past.
Depends on where you want power, what you want for idle, how much maintenance are you willing to do (spring changes, etc.) if you have emissions testing to pass. Lots of factors come into play when selecting a cam because the wrong one can make the car less fun depending on your goals. For example, if you want to maintain a good idle then a cam with a lot of overlap will be lumpy when idling.
lets see.. i dont want a heavy idle, i will change the springs and anything else that i need to do for the initial install.. other than that l have no emmissions, and have no clue what i want and or need ;(
I'm running a Lunati cam & loving every minute of it.
224/224 .576/.576 112LSA is what I'm running. It's a MTI C2 cam.
As a side note, MTI did not send me the cam I ordered and I did not notice this was the case until having some head work done and the engine builder asked me what cam I'm running so as to avoid any problems with piston to valve clearance. Not much MTI could do at this point but it still sucked to find out that his happened. The C2 cam I ordered was supposed to be 224/224 .581/.581 112LSA.
The Lunati Voodoo 212/218 .531/.531 113/109 is a very good cam last one I sold made around 30hp in a 5.3. It doesn't require tuning and will work with a stock converter.
