OK guys I'm new to Corvettes and have never installed headers on one. I have a 2002 Z06 that I bought a full set of used Kook's headers for (from a supporting forum vendor). I read the install instructions on the Kook's web site and I have some questions about the install. They mention removing the alternator, coil packs and the steering shaft. Also they mention loosening the motor mounts and jacking the motor up side to side when removing the stock manis and when installing the headers. They also recommend installing the headers from the top. I saw an install on a C6 and they didn't do any of this stuff and worked from the bottom of the car. Is all of this necessary? Does anyone have a link to install instructions with pictures for the C5? I have looked around and have found nothing. Any hlep would be appreciated.
Thanks for the links Chris. This looks like it's going to be hard, but worth it in the end. I'm glad I've got some guys coming over to help! The install happens Saturday.

Does the newer design still require as much work? Also, after you jack up the motor and slide the header in how the heck do you re-tighten the mount? I guess this is why they say loosen it from underneath.

Very cool offer George! After checking out some of your other posts, it looks like you're always willing to help I'll definitely give you a call before Saturday. You can never have too much information before you do something you've never done before.
