After winning a Corsa discount coupon, I'm about ready to purchase their Indy exhaust system for my C5. My question is...Is the xover pipe really worth the money? It seems like a lot of $ for not much. Any comments??? Thanks
I guess it all depends on what you want. I purchased my crossover when I bought my pace car exhaust because I did not want to hear too much popping when decelerating (sounds like some import want-a-be to me). If you expecting HP gain then forget it. You might see 1 or 2 hp but you will never feel it. I also did not want to install the cat back and then have to install the crossover later and waste more of my time. I love the way mine sounds, but It will pop a little when you down shift. If I were going install headers and more engine goodies then I think I would look for more of a "True" crossover (looks like an X and sometimes referred to as "off road" crossover pipe). With engine mods and header a crossover pipe might give you more HP (2 to 5 hp from what I have read on the CF and in magazines).
No X-pipe here, and the poping with the Indys is very minimal.
if I really want to MAKE it pop I can, but with normal driving I almost never hear a pop, plus, it's said that the X-pipe "tones down" the sound a little bit, and I like the sound of the Indys the way it is.
