What's a good clutch that I can put in my 01 to take the newly add HP (about 500hp) of a Procharger SC and still be easy enough for the wife to use? Again, wife's ease of use is key over "better/best" clutch
Car has a brand new stock Luk clutch (done when SC was installed). Under any type of spirited acceleraton, I smell what I can only describe as the smoke from a fire cracker or like burning gunpowder...doesn't smell like asbestoes at all....is this the clutch? Don't know what else it could be......
I find it hard to believe even the stock clutch will slip on a stock LSI under only 1 or 2 lbs of boost coming on. Tires are run flats so they are spinning.....

LS7 clutch is the stockest feeling clutch ur gonna get. easy swap.
I just had an RPS installed, and i think it is pretty good.... but the ls7 may be better - but the question is wether you are going to drag it or not as the RPS would be a better choice.
I am interested in how you make out, have the same issue to address here as well. The Textralia is interesting but I am not sure how much more pedal effort there is.
The LS7 clutch is lighter in pedal pressure than an LS6 clutch. On the street or a road course it is fine. BUT...
The LS7 clutch won't take slip on launch and will glaze at launch rpms exceeding 3800. It is made by LUK and exhibits the compelling need to keep the clutch fluid pristinely clean to avoid clutch pedal issues.
I went with the Luk Pro Gold to keep the pedal effort down. I have been using this clutch for about 18 months with no problems and that includes a few passes down the drag strip and a 135 mph average speed run at the Big Bend Open Road Race last year. My wife didn't notice a difference between the Luk Pro Gold and the stock clutch....but it holds a lot better.
