Default Help gauges died

On my 03 6 spd the entire gauge cluster dies..when I get a high voltage message on the dic. I have checked voltage at this time with a meter and it is OK. It doesn't matter if the engine is running or the key is just in the on position the message appears. The only code I get is loss of communication with drivers door module. This only happens intermittantly. I have checked all of the grounds and connectors especially to the door module. I wonder if the door module is bad or if its something else. ANY HELP I'm going nuts trying to find this. I hear Bill Curlee is the man for electrics if he reads this I would appreciate any help. Thanks
Anybody got Ideas H E L P

My guess is very little chance being related to the DCM. Probably just getting that message while the IPC is shut down. The electronics in these cars are programmed to shut down in high voltage conditions to protect themselves. My first guess is your getting some kind of high voltage spike, but without the engine running this makes no since. I would check you battery, battery cables, and grounds. Could be a bad IPC.

Which module is complaining about loosing comm with the DCM? Or is the DCM loosing comm with another module?

Disconnect battery and reconnect. Have had this happen during EFILive uploads and the battery disconnect works. Might be worth a try in this case as well.

The code is 60-IPC 1160 instrument panel cluster loosing comm with the DCM. **NEW WRINKLE** check the BCM when this was happening today...taped the case with my knuckle and everything came back on. I wiggled all of the connectors but couldn't cause andy problems. I need to have this happen again so I can tell if its connectors or inside the BCM. Does this sound like a good plan?? Battery is new.

Mine does that on rare ocassion. On mine it's the ignition switch. If I just jiggle the key back and forth a bit, the gauges come on.
