Has anyone seen and/or used both of these? Which one do you like better and why?
Also, it looks like the Dewitt's have come up in price since the last time I looked at them. Or is that my imagination? The BeCool and Dewitt's are within $40 based on the pricing I am seeing right now. I thought previously the BeCool was $100 more than the Dewitt's. But I could be mistaken.
I installed the Dewitts with EOC. I do about 15 track days per year and needed to get the car coolant and oil temps down. I was very impressed by the quality of the Dewitts and the first time on the track I saw a significant reduction in temps.
I look at DeWitts last year at Carlisle, I was very impressed with the quality of the unit, the design and the components used. Never seen the BeCool but I don't think you can go wrong with the DeWitts. DeWitts is also a supporting manufacturer of the forum.
BeCool and DeWitts are both regarded as quality all aluminum radiators. I chose to go with DeWitts for 3 reasons: 1. I've read many of Tom DeWitt's posts here on corvetteforum and have been impressed with them. Do a search on user name: Tom DeWitt and I think you will come to a similar conclusion. 2. I believe a DeWitts' radiator is a TRUE direct-fit replacement for the stock radiator. I wanted one that used the stock hoses, stock mounting locations, etc. I don't know if other radiator manufacturers offer this, I just know that DeWitts' does. It is a KNOWN quantity. and 3. I spoke to Tom a couple of times and liked his no nonsense approach to his products and their support.
I just went with a standard model A97M but they offer ones with EOC (Engine Oil Cooler), both left and right sides, and ones with EOC and TOC (Transmission Oil Cooler). If so inclined, a guy can get as sophisticated as he wants all while staying within the currently available product line.

I'm using a Dewitts....... haven't had a heat issue since the redesign moved the oil cooler out of the radiator and the intercooler out of the radiator cavity. Yesterday...cruising on the highway with 82 degree ambient air temp.....coolant temps.....167 degrees. On a recent 104 degree day...cruising temps stayed at 178 degrees.
I run a DeWitts in my 402 setup pushing 477rwhp and 486 rwtq. No complaints. Its what Andy at A&A Corvette recommended to go with and I've trusted Andy with much bigger decisions than that
I run Be Cool and had to suffer through s-l-o-w customer service /repair work, which kept me off the track. Go with Dewitt - a sponsor- and use a combined oil cooler if you run hard.
As I mentioned it looks great and works. I put it in for track use and noticed a significant drop in temps, but since most people dont do track days I decided to watch it over the weekend.
Yesterday I was stuck in traffic for 1.5 hours. It was 90+ degrees and I had the air on the whole time. Coolant temp was 189 and oil temps were 185.
Today on a fun run coolant temps 192 - oil temps maxed at 208.

I have been running a BeCool for quite some time now. I love it...
Cosign.I have the Be Cool system in my C3 with dual 11 inch fans and it has been probably the best mod I have thus far.Even on the hottest day in Sacramento 100+degrees my car barely exceeds 200 degrees in traffic.
Its just one less thing to worry about in a 26 yr old car.
