Default clutch sticking?!?!

I took my car to the trach tonight and on every run my clutch would stick back when shifted to second (happened on 4 out of 4 runs). The first time the pedal stayed all the way back to the floor (had to use my foot to pull it forward). next time wasnt too bad. Third run it only came back likte 2 inches and was able to shift, but isnt right. last run it stuck to the floor again, so i just coasted down the rest of the track hoping not to do any damage. Clutch petal seemed very light afterward and smell of burnt clutch has strong.

Anyway, to wind the story down, i fulled up with brake fluid because it was about 1/4 low and seemed to get rid of a little shudder when starting off in 1st. Problem is that I have never had a problem with the clutch and seemed to drive fine on the way home. WHY ONLY AT THE TRACK?? Has this happened to anyone else and if so, is it only because the fluid was low...or do I have a bigger problem to deal with. I have a 98 M6 vert. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Change your fuid, and do it often. It happened at the track because it gets hotter.

Good points, Goose.

Here is the operative collection of threads.

Why and how to take care of your clutch fluid.

Thanks for your help. I was hoping that it was not anything major or that my clutch was done for. Hopefully once all the fluid is changed out it will work fine.
