LT headers, Vararam and DR's put me at a best of 12.20@114 with an average of 12.5. You will likely run into clutch issues like I have.
Not trying to hog this post but I have to ask your running 12.20s and all you did was headers,Vararam and DR's no cam or head work or did I miss something,reason for asking is I'm getting ready to purchase a 98 with automatic and would like it to run that good with mods like that.
MR. KIDD, With an auto car you will need to change over the stall converter to take full advantage of the DR's. Comparing the Automatic cars to Manuals is really not fair on a stock VS stock basis. An Auto car will 60' alot better than most drivers can pull from a manual car. I can only manage 1.8's with DR's.
I must say I have one of the factory FREAK cars, managed A best of 12.50 with only a Blackwing, DR's and before the LT's.
98 Cobras IMHO do not even begin to compare to the C5. Why do you think the ended up Supercharged? They where getting their butts handed to them at every turn and straight away.
I just baught a 1997 m6 and was woundering what kind of mods will give me the best bang for the buck? It already has a K&N and a Corsa exhuast but that is about it. I'd like to get it to be a consistent 12 second car. I have a wet nos system laying around and was thinking about a 100 shot? I'd still like to get it to be low 12's all engine. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks alot!
My 98 is a mid to low 12 sec car with a best of 12.4 at 112 mph. It has the following mods in my sig. If I added headers and had it retuned it would be in the 12.2-12.0 range. If I then added 4.10 gears it would probably be in the 12.0-11.8 range. You can also go with a much larger cam than I did.
ok LG headers has a sale that includes headers and an x pipe for like 995 ....should i get the "off road only" ones ? can i take off the air pump **** and run ok ? lemme know bc i want to get these asap! thanks guys!
