Default cut outs question

What exactly does it do. I'm having a argument with a friend and I'd like someone to put in writing what a cut out does. I was going to get the bullets for my car but I am thinking that after awhile I may get sick of the way it sound inside the car so was contemplating getting a cutout. How much would it cost and for the guys that have them do you like them > Does it sound similiar to say the bullets or stingers ?

I don’t have cut outs but I definitely want a pair. Have you done a search for “cut outs”?

Yea, http://forums.corvetteforum.com/sear...archid=2989571

I searched on the net also and i see a set for the c6 z06 but not the c5 or c5z. I also asked this question so someone may be able to tell me where to purchase one as well as how they sound compared to other loud exhausts such as bullets and stingers. I would think it may sound weird cause the sound is comming from under the car rather than the back of the car or am I wrong

I have a buddy that has cutouts and I have B&B Bullets. The cutouts are way louder. He can electrically adjust how far open he wants the cutouts 0% to 100%. Thats the way to adjust how loud he wants to run. I'm not sure what brand they are, but he's always having problems with them not working right.

A cutout is basically a valve in the side of the exhaust that is normally closed. When closed all the exhaust is forced out through the entire exhaust system as normal. When the cutouts are opened the valve lets the exhaust dump out in the middle of the exhaust ahead of the mufflers. Cutouts are LOUD! The nice thing about electronic cutouts is they are controlled by electric motors so with just a flip of a switch while driving you can open them as much or a little as you want. You can dial up exactly how obnoxious you want to be. The photo of my system can be seen in the link posted above.
