Who knows if either is 'truly' better than Z06 airbox w/ paper filter ($38)?

I went from Z06 airbox/paper filter to blackwing and picked up nothing significant in 1/4 mph; runs were months apart but on similar weather days. Take it for what it's worth.

If i hadda do it again, i'd spend the extra $150 or so over Blackwing cost and go w/ Callaway Honker.

Blackwing looks cool though.

go with the black wing you can get a dual filter kit from a popular online auction for pretty cheap.

Blackwing seems to be the most popular.

I think the original question was which intake system made more hp, not which one costs less.

Independent test results, from Blackwing to Honker:
Baseline - 399.9 rwhp
Honker - 419.4 rwhp (+19.5)
Honker with tuning - 432.2 rwhp (+32.3)

Anything is nice if its cold air intake. I did a lot of research on this before I bought my intake (my first mod). BW was the best in terms of $ and performance. Its also a better built filter in terms of materials used. I didn't want just cold air and lag behind on filteration. I wanted good filteration as well. BW seems to have best filteration & sucked in more air than most filters. This was quite a debate between Blackwing vs Vararam threads... the dual cones, were not even in the competition... To make the BW EVEN better for more gains, turn it into free air cold air intake by following the link here. I have BW, and noticed instant gains when I added it. I haven't had the time to do the cold air mod yet... but will do it soon. Its free for us guys who already have BW...

Well instead of going through all the removal of the radiator shroud, I cut the back of the fog light housing out. This lets in a lot of air. So that's got to be a gain

Just to chime in - "BLACKWING" I have the K&N FIPK and am happy with it but between those two you'll like the Blackwing better!

Thanks,Matt

I like the Honker simplicity and construction.....and it looks great.

Nice big green filter which is SEALED to the radiator shrowd and gets cool air forced into it.

Works good with my setup
