No responses to the inquiry regarding "motion sensors" or "intrusion sensors". Someone must know this one! Please inform. Thanks, that is in regard to the '04 C5.

Thanks for trying to respond, my mistake. I have been trying to find out if the '04 C5 has a motion sensor like in the older GM cars, and if so is it adjustable. From what I see of other threads it looks like the C5's do not have this feature, correct??

Could you be any more vague? What motion sensor for what purpose ,what does it control. Spell out exactly what you want to know, for what system, etc.

Theres a vehicle speed sensor controlled via the PCM. Used by cruise control among other things. No physical motion sensor in the cockpit to the best of my knowledge.

There's a yaw sensor and an accelerometer in the car used by the EBCM for Active Handling.

I think he means an adjustable Motion sensor on the factory alarm.

AFAIK - No there isn't an adjustable one.

Thanks again, I did mean the sensor which sounds the horn if it is racked or moved etc. I didn't realize there were so many sensors!

I have a 2004 Z06 and to the best of my knowledge no motion sensor came stock from the factory. However, i have read posts about some being added to the stock system or an entirely separate motion detection system can certainly be added.

Try doing a search of the C5 section, you might find some info on it..

Absolutely it can be added. Any "Good" 12v car audio or alarm installer can do it. It's as simple as a power supply to it, and properly wiring into a door sensor to trip the factory alarm.

I hate to harsh your gig man, but on a serious note... Forget wiring stuff into the vehicle and making it an electrical nightmare if anything goes wrong. Just up your insurance coverage and be happy.

Because honestly (this is coming from someone who was on BOTH sides of the security fence - Ex installer, ex repo guy)... If they want it bad enough, it's as good as gone. If they can't take it they'll trash it to hell and back.

Also, I think Vettes are pretty low on the list of cars that get stolen a lot

The wiring on the C5 's start to become a regular maintenence item for dealing with corrosion, shorts and other electrical wiring nuisences. You must constantly check the grounds. Between the PCM, BCM and all the related sensors, throwing an aftermarket alarm on top of this mess is just going to cause you heartache. You could be out relaxing, driving the car instead. Put that alarm in, and you will be on the side of the road somewhere with a car that won't start, because the VATS has locked you out. I agree with Sick ZO6, don't complicate things.

I can break into ANY ZO6 in less than 30 seconds without damaging the car. PM me and I will tell you how it is done, and what to look out for with yours. I'll respond up to 10 PM's only.
