Default I Fixed the 1293 code

Ok the problem. I had a tcs 1293 . The root cause of all the problemswas the plug at the brake pressure switch. The plug is a three prong plug and has a black , orange /w black tracer and a gray wire. The gray wire and the orange wire ,plug position 2 and 3 were switched .It must have happened when the drive belt came off when the other owner had it.

If u get a 1293 code check the plug at the bk pressure switch.pin 3 should have .014 v and pin 2 should have 5 v with the key on .

this code would come on when i would jam on the gas in 1st and 2nd and then let off the gas fast . let the car slow on its own.If any one els has this problem please call i will help if i can 270 234 3676.

I had the same issue it's one of your wheel sensors a short term solution is to disconnect the sensor plug clean the terminals and connect them again with new electrical grease in the connection.

This fixes the issue if it's just a loose connection or one full of road grime.

If the code continues to pop up you got a bad wheel sensor. Pull the codes to find out whick wheel it is.

If you go looking for the connections to clean start at the inside of each wheel and trace the two wires back about six inches you will see it.

Plan B works like a charm. Called them on Thursday, they faxed a shipping label, I took it to UPS @ 4 PM. They got it Friday AM, rebuilt it, and shipped it back on Friday PM. I got it today (Monday) at 3 PM and it works. Auto and Truck Electronics in West Palm are about as good as it gets.

Great job! I seen many people use them but no one ever gave any feed back. Sounds like a great place to send the POS Delphi stuff from GM to be upgraded. Hea,,you can list it as a MOD!

Thanx for the help.

I've seen the c1226 on my car after installing stainless steel brake lines. Turned out to be a build up of static electricity on the lines causing the sensor to throw codes in my case.

Default Do old codes give service warnings

I cleared the history codes a few weeks ago and I haven't had the service ABS/Traction display again. Is it possible that the warnings were showing up due to these history codes not being cleared?

Thanks!

No. Not clearing the codes did not set off the ABS/Traction codes. You can get traction control codes for all sorts of reasons (loose or dirty connections, battery issues, etc. All codes followed by and "H" are history and not active. All codes floowed by a "C" are active (i.e. a current problem)

Hope that clears things up a bit.

Thanks. I kind of though it was just coincidence. I'll continue to wait for it again and check the connections.

Thanks again.

A liitle more info is needed.

What size tires are you running in front and back ? Is the car a manual or auto-matic?

Tires should be staggered. The fronts should be at least 1/2" lower (diameter) than the rears.

If you changed tire heights over stock and have an automatic you will need to get your PCM reprogrammed for your new tire height. (not applicable to manual transmissions).

Post up in Tech section for a tuner in your area to get PCM reprogrammed.

Also check you DTC for codes.

The rear tire diameter cannot be less than the front tire diameter. Preferrably it should be about an inch larger. This is not something that can be reprogrammed in the PCM. It is in the EBTCM program which will not be touched since nobody knows what to do. In the condition where the rear tires are smaller in diameter than the fronts the TC will cut power and apply the rear brakes. Coast down a hill with the car in nuetral and you will feel the TC applying the rear brakes.

When I took it back to him yesterday it started throwing the service tire pressure warning. so Thanks to you guys Im sure thats what it is. What size should he put on the rear? I know my 95 didnt give me any issues but
I put 275/40's all the way around it so I could rotate them when needed.
and I sure thank you guys for the help
