Hood adjustment: How?
I just replaced the hood om my car and didn't mark the hinges well enough to install it perfect like the stock hood was. The shop manual only says to mark the hinges before replacing parts - no help! What is the secret and sequence to making the adjustments? I know some of you body guros have the process down pat!

TRIAL AND ERROR, I'm afraid - maybe see if you can get the very front edge of the hood level w/ the front fascia - tighten the hinges to the frame, and adjust the hood using the 4 bolts from the hood to the hinges - worked for me, but maybe I just got lucky. let us know how things go.

Trial & Error
The first thing I did was remove the latch strikes on the hood so I wouldn't have to keep popping the hood to check clearances (remember which way they were mounted, they have a top and bottom). Then I set the hood left and right centered with the bumper cover with a .200” gap. The outboard, top bumper cover fasteners are the push type and not adjustable, so I adjusted the hood to “0” left and right on the bumper cover and adjusted the fenders to have the same .200” margin front to back from hood. Then I adjusted the hood latch mechanism so that the reinstalled hood strikes were centered with the latch.
It looks MUCH better now and the hood no longer shakes over bumps.
