Default Under Drive Pulley

Who has experience with putting on an under drive pulley? A couple questions...

1. On a daily driver, does it cause higher operating temperatures?

2. Does it cause the AC to be less effective... I do live in Texas and that is a major concern.

3. Does it cause under volts to the charging system?

Any information would be helpful during my decision making process.

Thanks

1)I had one installed on my 97 auto as well as a 160* T-Stat, cooling was not an issue

2)Same car in Florida and not an issue

3)I did notice the volts drop some when I came to a stop, though not enough to dim the lights or anything- I didn't actually test this with a volt\ohm meter to see what effect this did have

I drove me car every day to work without issue! This was replaced due to a wabble I noticed in the factory pulley- I had it done as well as having it pinned so to not have this issue again...part was bought from Summit Racing for about $209. Best Price I have found for an ASP pulley...most charge $250+ for the same damn thing!install was approx $300 from my local speed shop

Good luck!

1. Have not noticed any ill effect w/a 160° T-Stat.

2. ASP might because it underdrives the A/C also. Powerbond/SLP does not, so no ill effect should be noticed.

3. I've had no problems here.

I RUN THE ASP PULLEY, NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. PLUS IF YOU HAVE A PARTITION, THAT REDUCES THE CUBIC FEET OF COOLING SPACE
THAT YOU NEED TO COOL DOWN IN THE SMALL COCKPIT OF THE VETTE ANYWAY. THEY SAY TO STAY AWAY FROM BIG AMPS AND
HARD HITTIN STEREO SYSTEMS THOUGH.

I had an underdrive pulley installed and haven't had a single problem with cooling or with voltage fluctuations. Shoot, it is the best thing I have done to the car. I had a warped pulley and had to get it done. The only thing is that I wished it would have warped sooner so I could have had it done sooner. I went with the Powerbond from TexasSpeed. They shipped it out extremely quick too. If you are a member of one of the local corvette clubs you can probably get a free loaner car and a reduction on installation as well.

No problems with ASP pulley on an '04 A4 daily driver in Milwaukee, WI. Not as hot as Texas, but I didn't even notice a difference (A/C, temp, or volts) after the change.
