I pulled the vette out of the garage to give it a bath, opened the hood to blow the dirt out of the engine compartment with the air compressor when I saw the radiator hose was collapsed
Is this normal or abnormal? Engine wasn't warmed up, just ran it long enough to pull out of the garage. I started the car and it did open up again somewhat.
Too bad stealership closed tomorrow. I'm suppose to be going to a car show for Veterans in the morning.
Car temp up to 214 idling in the garage, seems o.k.

Temp went to 226 for a couple minutes then went back down to 217.
Until you can get a new cap, soak the old one in hot soapy water and then blow it out with compressed air or shake it dry and see if that takes care of it. You can collapse the hose by hand while an assistant puts the cleaned cap back on the expansion tank. If the cap is working correctly, it should allow the air to enter the expansion tank to release the vacuum you created by squeezing the air out but it should not let any pressure out when the engine comes up to temp.
See if your maintaining pressure in the system when the engine is at operating temp.
