Default Katech or AFR Heads

Hi Guys,
I know AFR 205cc heads rock. They claim 300CFM at 600 lift.
Katech Stage III 245cc heads claim flow of 330CFM at 575 lift. These heads use hollow stem intake and sodium filled exhaust valves. With
LG's G5x3 cam, Best choice of head. Thanks

For a 346 the AFR's will make more power. comparing those heads are like comparing apples to oranges.

Those are really big intake ports on the Katech heads, not sure how much it will affect power down low since that cam doesn't have its specifications listed and I am guessing is a high revving cam. With that cam, you might also want to consider the AFR 225's. I would contact Tony Mamo and get his input on the head selection with that cam. I'm sure he can provide some excellent input on which of the AFR heads would suit your needs.

two Different heads for two diffent purposes. With the LGs G5x3 cam which is a high reving cam the AFR 205 heads most likley will preform better.

Katechs heads work best in the stock rpm ranges of 4800 torque and 6300 HP. The Katechs would give you more power under the curve with a smaller cam designed for those heads. The AFRs and the G5x3 cam more power up top.

I would go with the AFR heads IMO! You'll get all the performance you desire out of this set and some! and retain your down low performance!

Thanks,Matt

I'd use a cylinder head that compliments that cam, especially at high RPM and valvelift. The TFS 225's or ETP 225's would be a wiser choice.
