I just had all the column lock crap done at the dealer for over $600. The next day the right side door won't comm. Dealer service manager just told me the RSCM "took a dump" and needs to be replaced. Does anyone know if these two are ever related? I can't find anything in the sticky about that. I am fighting with Chevy about the $600, want to know if I can fight for the $300 or so this will cost. Thanks

Default colum lock

I tought that was a recall, why should you be paying for that, I just put a clb on my Z, left the lock plate in the column, I never had a problem, but my car has about 13k on it.

I fight if I were you, call your attorney, don't let them get away with that.

Well, this could be a long story. They found that the recall on the car was done incorrectly by the original dealer. They say the Canadian recall was done. Anyway, my dealer did the latest recall and put in the relay and took out the locking plate (under warrenty). Than the dealer says the accuator (sic) whatever was bad and GM won't pay for that. Said they fought for it. Anyway put new one in and new battery and all was fine for a day and than left door decided not to talk to the rest of the car. Now dealer says I need a new Cm in the door for about $200 plus labor. By the way, this 2000 only has about 4000 total miles on it and has never been in the rain. My question is, has anyone seen where working on the column lock has affected any other electronics. I am about to go postal. Before anyone says I should have put a CLB in; probably, but I only had the car for about a month. This was all unknown to me until 2 weeks ago. The only problem with everyone saying, "look at the sticky","look at the sticky" is that a new owner has no idea what the **** you are talking about and a 25 page sticky is bogus in my opinion, can't somebody edit out all the garbage?. Please realize everyone does not live on this net!!!!! I do appreciate any help.
