Default Halltech stinger questions

I am considering the Halltech stinger intake for my 99 vette. I was looking at thier website for installation insturctions and could not tell where the air charge temp sensor goes. Does the kit come with the hole already in it or do you have to drill. If someone who has one could tell me I would appreciate it. I am considering the sensor relocation, and wondering if anyone has used it. I do appreciate the help.

I just picked up a used Stinger, and mine had a hole in the stock location in the airbridge. You remove the sensor and rubber grommet from the stock piece and install in the Halltech bridge. I think that is the difference between the 97-00 system and the 01+, but someone please correct me if I am wrong. BTW-this was not mentioned in the install instructions I had printed from their website.

There is a flat spot on the airbridge for it. If the hole is not there then just drill one. No bid deal.

"It took alittle elbow grease. You will need to carefully push and pry the IAT out of the rubber grommet it is in. Push it from the inside of the airbridge and then pry it from the outside using a flat screwdriver. You have to be careful not to pull it out to fast because the sensor can break. Once the IAT was out, you can then easily remove the rubber grommet and then reinstall it on the Stinger airbridge. Then you slide the IAT into the grommet."

That's basically how i did it. Except that I wasn't able to get much of a bite with the flat screwdriver so I wrapped a cloth over the sensor and used a small vice grips clamped pretty lightly on the groove in the plastic sensor housing.

I wanted a Red one, which are for 2001's and up, for my 2000. So, I had to drill it for the sensor. As noted above, it'd a PITA to get it out of the original airbridge, so take your time.
