Ls1 Drain Plug Torque
Can anybody tell me the proper torque spec for the oil drain plug on my '99. I'm always a little paranoid about over doing it when it comes to aluminium pans, heads, ect. Tried to do a search but didn 't come up with anything.

It is 18 ft-lbs for the oil drain plug. You have to use an extension on a normal (not deep) socket.
It is 22 ft-lbs for the oil filter. This has always puzzled me, it is over 2 full turns after contact. This is probably why people complain about them being so hard to remove. Not sure why it is so high?
