Default Redline MTL Long Term

Is anyone running Redline MTL in their MN6 or MN12? The big tranny houses seem to recommend it but I am concerned about the long term use and the carbon fiber blocker rings or any other internal parts.

Bob, a couple of years ago I talked to the Tremac engineers at Carlisle. Their recomendation was any Dexron compatable was ok. The Redline MTL isn't the problem was with the cold weather use it doesn't flow well enough. That said they recomended Amsoil or mobile1 if using your car at low temps. Ive been using Redline D4ate and it is a bit stiffer shifting when cold. I have about 40,000 on it now (redline use) and still working smooth

I have actually been running the Amsoil since the first change when the car had broken in, about 20K miles ago. No problems with it and the shifting appears to be good. Always looking for improvements though

We run MTL in everything. I will say it works great in cold temps. I have ran this MTL in -40 degree MN winters without problems. FYI I have had Redline MTL in my truck for over 200,000 miles in my truck.

Randy,

I have read elsewhere the T56 doesn't like certain oils due to blocker rings, is this pre-C5 or is the C5 included in this?

Bob, it's the early C5's they had paper blocker rings, the newer ones have carbon, I'm not sure when the change over was

I have always used Redline products, I think they are of good quality. Thats just my opinion though.
