I'm trying to decide on a cam for my Winter project for my Z06. Right now, i'm leaning towards a cam-only set-up. I like the Cartek 2x cam, but I'm also intrigued by the 3x, but I can't find enough info on them.
eventually, I might go with a set of ported heads, and headers, of course.
What do you guys recommend?
Anyboy here running either one? Your impressions on those two cam will be greatly appreciated.

I've run both. They are both very streetable. I would go with the 3x if you plan on going to the 1/4 mile alot, otherwise the 2x is perfect for street and strip. The 3x pulls harder up top and is designed more for higher rpms where the 2x is smoother throughout. If you like more radical, then there is also a 4x which is still very streetable. You can't go wrong with either, make sure you get it tuned well.
i just got my 2x cam installed last month we pulled almost 400rwhp on a 99 frc with fast 90/90 setup and full exhaust i just brought it to the track and ran a 12.4 with this setup. BUT with a new clutch and gears im positive we will run deep into the 11's I ran with a cluch that has 45000 miles on it and i burnt it half way down the track. I also had a 3x h/c camaro that is was very comparable. But truth be told i wish i had put the 3x cam in it.Its worth a little more HP and at the same money. when i do my heads im switching to the 3x cam.

Sweet. I felt that the 3x cam although more powerful esp up top it was less forgiving on the drag strip. Your shifting has to be better and at the right spot to see the benefit.
I did trap 127 mph with the 3x cam only so we know it works.
Anybody got the specs on the 2X, not the 0.050 numbers but the intake centerline, advertised duration, overlap, etc? Wanted to run some DCR calcs but there is not information on the web site.

The only info you'll see on their website is the duration @0.50 224/228 113lsa for M6 tranny. The 3x specs is undisclosed on their website.
robz: thanks for the info. I've talked to you before on Cartek cams, and I know you've had great success with it. I think I'll be calling Julio to get more info on the 3x cam which I think would be my best choice at this time.

Hey Rob, you didn't mention that the 2x has gone 10.8's. My car when it was a H/C car last year ran 10.92 in a +1000 da with the 2x head an cam making 440 at the wheels.
