Im interested in installing bilsteins on an '02 coupe. Ive had alot of experience with them on other makes but not on a vette. Most everyone has said that they will make a significant difference in ride quality especially on a lowered car.
Is this due to a longer stroke / shorter shut height or more agressive dampening rate? As I pi$$ed everyone in the family off by lowering the car I need to try to improve the ride. I'd hate to raise it back up to factory "4x4" specs. By the way it measures 27" front and 27.5" rear. All comments welcome :flag
I can't really answer the question you asked but my car is lowered and I have the Bilstein Sports. The ride feels much more planted and does not "skip" on uneven pavement. Took about an hour to install and well worth the time and money.
Re: Bilstein Advice - Ride Quality (Mean Green 2000)
When I inquired about which Bilstein to install, I was told go with the "sports" if you are lowering the car; if not, as was my case, go with the HDs. Needless to say I find the HDs much improved over the stock units in terms of both handling and ride quality. Choices are what it is all about.

I have a lowered car and I HATED them!!! I had them yanked the second day after I put them one. The ride was too harsh for me. I guess I'm just a girlie-man.
The bilstein sports will make your ride about 20% stiffer and will improve your ride in terms of handling, but will not make it more comfortable. If you want comfort, go with the HD's or stay with what you have.......or sell and buy a cadillac :D
