wheel bearing? any vibration? been on the highway??? See if it gets worse the faster you go.... I love these test.
that is what I am thinking...I am just trying to catch it before disaster.
No real noticeable vibration at any speed.
It is a DD and I am on the highway at 70-80 mph for at least 20 miles a day. No real differences noticed.
Anything else I can do? Maybe, I am over dramatizing it and it is just pads scraping the rotors. But I don't think so...it is definitely different. More metal on metal...and I just did a brake job.
could just be the pads/ rotors... They do touch even while not pressed.
A bad wheel bearing will not kill ya.. your wheel is'nt gonna shoot out from under ya.. You can usually check it by jacking the car up so that wheel is suspended and wiggle it back and forth... if it wiggles bad bearing.. if not.. still could be bad but it could also be something else.
Their is a grease (silicon???) that you can spray on the brakes.. It's "designed" to reduce such noise...

Was there uneven wear on the old pads?
ok..good to know.
No uneven wear on pads...actually after 60K miles...I still had a lot of pad left, especially on the rear...the rotors were just warped.
I'm not sure if this will help, but just this last weekend I changed the brakes on my Favorite wife's 2003 vette and had the rotors turned. After installing everything, there was a slight grinding/rubbing noise. I took the brakes completly apart, re installed them and the noise was still there. I finally jacked up the rear end and put it up on jack stands and had her turn the wheel while I listened. The problem turned out to be the top portion of the backing plate was rubbing on the rotor. I tapped it with a hammer and the noise went away.
