I have the Billet Polished 6-Speed Shifter **** manufactured by Kirban Performance Products on my Ripper. It rocks and looks really mean!!!
I really like it. They make it with or without the pattern. I researched what Ferrari does with their gated shifter *****, and it turns out they also put the pattern on the ball. So, that's the one I bought.
I ran the Momo Combat Carbon without problems on my Ripper in the 2000. I went to the XTreme Aluminum **** and it screws right on, and it worked great as well. Currently I am running the Zip Products Black Billet **** with the C5 Logo. It does get hot when it's been sitting in the sun, but the overall feel and the weight precludes any rattling the harmonics in the Ripper might cause.
The Hardbar.net Delrin ***** are very popular. They do not get hot like the aluminum ***** and have the most positive feel due to the full threads made specifically for each application with no adapters and set screws like some of the universal *****. They are very similar to what is used in the C5-R. Avalable from LAPD as well.
The MOMO's fit, and brand of aluminum **** screws right on. Very heavy and solid. It also has the actual cross flags on it and the shift pattern. Ou rpic on the mall shows the old cross flag style that looks like a bat...it's not like that anymore.
The Billet Polished 6-Speed Shifter **** by Kirban is the best. No defects, great manufacturing process, and perfect screw on fit without any set screws. :boxing
;)
Say what you want, but I have had alot of people especially in the south, buy the Hardbar **** to replace their metal shift ***** because all metals get hot, Delrin does not. No matter how well built any aluminum (or Ti or steel) **** is, it will conduct the transmission heat as well as the ambient heat from sitting in the sun in the parking lot. I am told by many customers that they have very nice permanent Corvette logo or shift pattern "brands" in their palms from this hot summer from grabbing the beautiful machined aluminum *****. But then again, some people might like that...that is something we do NOT offer! Perhaps someone should make a copper or gold ****, those are the only common metals that conduct heat better than aluminum. Take a look in any of the Trans-Am and other professional road race cars, and see what they use.
Hey look, there is a place for both Coke and Pepsi in the marketplace, the customer makes the decision and it our responsibility as vendors to make sure the customers are aware of as many choices as possible then they can make up their own minds.
My ****, the aluminum one, doesn't seem to generate anymore heat from the trans than the stock ****, and I ride with my hand on it. The **** is hot, like the steering wheel is, and the seats and the arm rest, when I leave the car is the sun with the optional clear top or the top off and the temp is 90-100 degrees like it is in the summer here in TX. Without a sunshade in the window, the whole car is a little oven, but, cools quickly with the a/c on full blast.
I have not seen a 'brand' on a hand, but, would think that a magazine like Corvette Fever would would run a story and pics on that
Heh heh. I think you didn't get the fact that I was only being half-serious when I said the billet ball is the best. It's the best for me. :D
I was just getting in on the fun little competition between vendors and their products emerging in this thread.

Exactly...what's right for YOU. Check others ***** at car shows and talk to them. You'll find as many opinions as you do on exhausts, intakes and colors of cars etc...
Hey I was having fun as well! I bet someone sells machined solid gold shift ***** for Beemers or something! I wonder what that would cost! Heck, I just want the scrap chips off of the lathe. I would not even know where to get solid gold bar stock, but if there is a market for it I could find out...
I had a MOMO.. I didnt like it... feel or heat.. I went back to the stock **** on my ripper.. it doesnot conduct any heat.. Ifr i change it .. it will be the Hardbar
