Default Cleaned Vortex Filter with K&N Recharge, Question!

Cleaned my Red Cone Filter, the one that is for the Vortex Air Rammer.

Cleaned twice and it has been drying for 2 days. I am going to Oil it with the spray can in the K&N Kit.

Should I spray on the Oil (I was told very light coat, how much exactly?) and let it sit for awhile (an hour, a day) before I Install it so it soaks in there good and doesn't fling off so easily?

I am not driving the car for several days so it is no biggie either way.

Just Wondering...................

Cleaned my MAF as well and waiting to put that back in when I put the Filter and Air Bridge back together.

Have the same intake and have serviced it with the K&N recharger kit also. I use a quick sweeping action with the can of oil and try not to overlap the pleats of the filter more than once. After spraying the oil, go ahead and check if there are any bare spots and give them a quick spray, you don't want to soak the oil in. I installed mine about 20 minutes later, but let it sit before driving the car overnight, roughly 9 hours before driving.

I over oiled mine the first time, very easy to do. I actually think you are better off with the squeeze bottle kit. Like stated, put on a quick spray and let it sit. You can always hit the light spots again. With the squeeze bottle they tell you to just go down each rib on the filter and put some on the top letting it soak down, so by that description it doesn't take much.

Letting it sit over night isnt a bad idea. If you use a white paper towl and patt the filter after your done (inside and out) it will help remove any extea oil.

I just follow the directions.

1. Tap out larger debris
2. Soak filter outside/inside with cleaning agent, let sit for 10-15 min.
3. Rinse w/ tap water (not pressurized) from inside out, against air flow to wash dirt out of filter, not drive in.
4. Let air dry
5. Oil lightly and evenly, let sit for a few min, then touch up any light spots. I only oil the outside. of the filter.

I don't waste any time... just install it and go.

Just give it a light coat till it turns pink and not red! I let it dry about an hour or longer depending where it is drying and the ambient temps(Got that from CSI). Either in the house or outside. Just give it some time to dry a little and you'll be okay!

Just don't soak it!

Thanks,Matt
