,i pulled the factory exaust and put on loudmouths, which left the two areas open where the factory mufflers went. i think a person could mount the battery under the car or even one on each side for added power in cold cranking ,for high power sterio systems.plus even dist. of weight for drag racing. i think by running two batteries you can double your cranking amps, but not over power the 12 volt system?

I am sure it is, but I do not see the justification of a $450 relocation kit when you can kit up the same thing from Jegs or Summitracing for $150ish.

Agreed... and that's my plan. I just need to find the size of the battery boxes offered by Jegs and Summit to make sure they'll fit.

If it's weight and size driving the change then consider HAWKER Genesis Gel Cell Batteries

1/2 THE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF A BATTERY OF EQUAL POWER!

P/N....Wght....Lngth...Wdth...Hght...Amps
2001...23.3.....6.56....6.92....4.95.... 1000
2007....13.5....7.15....3.00....6.60.... ..500

* Gel Cell, Install In Any Position!
* Very High Vibration Resistance!
* Fast Recharge Capability!
* Maintenance Free, Never Add Liquid, No Corrosion On Terminals!
* Flame Retardant Case And Cover!
* High Discharge Rate Due To Low Internal Resistance!
* Pure Lead Plates For Longer Life And Performance!
* Retains 80% Of Its Power If Allowed To Sit On The Shelf For 6 Months!
* Used by most NASCAR teams. Also used by many Formula car teams.

Yes, it's the weight. I'm installing an A&A system in December and I want to offset the supercharnger weight a bit. BTW, I'll be up for one of your tunes after I do the install

Default Where is 06 Z06 BATTERY?

Just spent about 6 hours yesterday at the Chevy dealer and while there popped thge hood on a 06 Z06. Where I expected the battery to be was an OIL FILL for a sump oil system but no battery. Where did they put it. In the trunk?

And yes, GM stuck the C6 Z06 battery in the right rear compartment, just like everyone here is talking. But since the C6 don't have mufflers under the compartments I'm wondering if GM made the box bigger, I'm guessing they did. I'm still finding the C5 right compartment a tight fit for the battery. But I'm determined to find a way to get it in there with a lid over it.
