ok so my window quit working on my passenger side. i pulled the door panel off to see what was there and i couldnt tell what was i was told to beat on the door and then someone mentioned that the gears can get locked up in it. Can someone tell me what the piece im supposed to be hitting on looks like? Or does anyone have any pics?

Once you've pulled the panel off of the door; remove the two sealers gaskets; one is in the upper right and one is near the speaker mechanism. Once you've done that; you'll have access to the motor/regulator, which is all one part. Very small piece in the door behind the opening mechanism.
I've done it once only to have the second motor crap out.
beating on the motor is a temporary fix, if it fixes at all.
Most common problem is the cable binds in the pulley system at the motor. My experience with this problem showed the window attempt to move about a 1/4", but that was it.
If there is no movement at all, that is usually the motor or electrical. Could be a switch, relay/module etc. I tested mine with a volt meter to make sure power was making it to the motor.
I've replaced both window motor/regulators due to problems like you're experiencing. I personally would not attempt to fix a cable routing problem in the pulley. That was a nightmare. It's fairly easy to replace the entire setup.
