Default FINALLY!! Headers are On!!!

Well I put the headers on today and must say that EVERYONE needs a set! This Dynatech system sounds hairy with the B&B Bullets!!! The sytem went in without any real problems (no check engine light, no torchs needed....). The only problem I have is that the end part of the exhaust is now rubbing againt the rear bumber. I may end up putting a different sytem in or just shorten the tubes. Anyone else come across this problem????

In conclusion, I would buy these again in a heartbeat! Installation was time consuming, but everything went together perfect. Thanks a lot Stu(StuandJoy)

I had a Dynamaxx system installed on my car this week. Great fit and I love the results. I had mine installed professionally and the installer said it was one of the best fitting systems he has ever installed. The car sounds awesome now with the Bassani aft cats. Now for a tune next Saturday and I"ll see just how accurate my seat of the pants gauge is.

Congrats. What you can do on the rubbing is loosen the joint to the cat back, use some pads or something and stuff them between the exhaust tips and the bumper to get them to sit correctly and then re-tighten. There is usually enought slop in this joint to move them around a bit.

Vettenuts, I tried loosening the cat-back but the piece's with the tips are just too far out the back. I think I have to cut them up

I had installed the same set up about 3 weeks ago on my 98 except I am running a Corsa cat back. I got a check engine light this weekend with a p0141 code. I cant locate any O2 sims anywhere. I am in the process of having it tuned now to get the CEL cleared.

I still love the system and the sound!!!

Wow, those look like they are tucked in better than stock! Any issue with the front O2's hitting the plate? One of the reasons I haven't gone w/ a full-on header is I don’t want (or need) exhausts hanging down on my lowered car.

I have the Dynatech's also. Great system. I had a smiliar problem with cat-back rubbing the bumper...what I did was disconnect the cat-back portion compleltly, and monkey around/adjust it again..it took a couple of times, but I got it so it would not rub. Sometimes the cat-back will adjust a little on it's own, just being under load when the car is running.

Don't resort to cutting just yet, that would be my last choice.

Good luck

Drill a couple large holes in the plate and pass the wires through them to keep them out of the way and keep the 02's from hitting.

Also, Turn your clamps up 90 degrees so they don't hit on speed bumps or collect trash on the road.

While you've got it down, get a stronger tunnel plate from Wilfullone.

Nice system!
You may want to rotate those clamps to the inside, out of harms way!

Wow, thats looks exactly like my set of 'ebay headers', minus the flange that connects to the cats. I used the same Torctite clamps as well. Very nice.

Are you refering to me? I am running no cats and CEL eliminators.

Below is a pic from another member running the same set up. Only difference is the type of clamps I used. I think I paid a total of $400 including the clamps, new gaskets, etc.

Take your car to the track, and you'll be even more impressed. My car went from 13.08 at 108 mph to 12.66 at 112 mph with the Kooks.

Those are high flow cats on mine. I have already rotated the clamps around, my installer left them turned down like that. I haven't had any clearance issues with either the O2 sensors or the aft cat exhaust. And no CEL or codes to this point.

One other difference I notice in the Dynamaxx and the eBay headers is the length of the tubes. The collectors on the eBay headers are right next to the oil filter while on the Dynamaxx the collectors are several inches farther back. I'm no expert but I believe the longer tubes will increase the torque.
