Default EBCM Trouble Codes?

I checked for trouble codes on the DIC tonight and found these. 2002 Z06 with 16K miles.

C1248 -- DRP Disabled
C1261 thru C1274 -- EBCM Internal Solenoid Circuit

What does "DRP Disabled" mean?

All had an "H" on the end of the code (indicating a "History" evet). Cleared them and they didn't come back. So what's it mean? Is the EBCM going out? What else could cause an intermittent? I've never seen these before, and I check for codes on a regular basis.

Thanks

Keep an eye out for a 1214 C H, that is the one that is notorious for accompanying EBCM failure and the one that showed up when mine went out.

I only saw the DTCs listed in my first post. Could a low battery on startup cause them?

I had a high speed near "loss of control" incident recently and the active handling kicked in pretty hard and saved it. I'm wondering if that’s when these DTCs were set?

DRP = Dynamic Rear Proportioning (i.e. balance between front and rear brakes; on pre-2001 cars, the rear brake bias is controlled by a spring).

The other codes indicate an issue with the solenoids inside the EBCM unit. The fact that they all set does indicate you may have a general communications / lack of continuity from the PCM to this module, i.e. the connector.

Another possibility is the hydraulic portion of the solenoid(s) leaking into the unit, effectively shorting it out.

My recommendation; remove the connector, spray both the male and female ends with electronic component cleaner (NOT brake cleaner), remove / insert 4 or 5 times to get a good clean surface between the pins, and see how that goes. If you are really paranoid, you could remove the electronic portion on the module (the hydraulic side stays on the car), open it up and take a look. I wouldn't bother until you try the clean and swipe of the contacts.

Let me know if I can assist further.

Hey Dan ... thanks for the info. I looked at the EBCM connector again with a mirror and flashlight like you suggested in the other thread and I still can't really tell how the connector comes off and goes back on.

It looks like there is a small plastic "lock" that must prevent the latch from moving. So once the "lock" is removed, how does the connector disconnect? I didn't attempt to fool with it yet, but just made sure everything felt tight on the EBCM.

I drove the car today and checked for DTCs again, and none were present. So apparently, the DTCs that where thrown for the TCS were from something intermittent.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Once you un-do the lock, the lever flips up and back, un-seating the connector.
