How can this spring be replaced and fixed?
I am trying to post a picture of the piece of black multi-coiled spring that snapped off when depressing my clutch.
You can see it when looking up under the pedals. One end is still attached to the pedal and an aluminum brace.
the link to the image is here.
thanks.

The procedure to replace this spring is to do so while the clutch pedal is depressed; you can use a length of pipe or wood, wedge it between the pedal and the front seat bracket.
The spring is there to make daily driving easy and to make the clutch easier to push in and hold down. However... a side effect is that it is one of the main contributors to a stickey clutch pedal in hard shifting. The spring holds the pedal down (how it makes it easy to push in) and slows the uptake when speed shifting.
Pull it completely out... then go drive, you will probably love it out.
I had mine out for 2 years after it broke... loved it. They decided to try it back in to see how easy it was. It did make stop/go driving a bit nicer but the instant I went to the drag strip my sticky pedal was back. Then at VIR the pedal would hang up w/ every heel/toe downshift.
So... out it came and problem gone, clutch back to perfect.
